Peninsula Hospital
Peninsula, a division of Parkwest Medical Center, has set a new standard for effective, innovative and caring mental health services in East Tennessee. With a combined total of more than 75 years of experience, Peninsula organizations have helped thousands of people recover from disorders and dependencies, and lead healthy, positive and productive lives.

The area's leading mental healthcare providers came together in 1996 to provide cost-effective and high-quality care to children, adolescents and adults. This consolidation increased access to care, enhanced quality, and improved efficiency. A leader in the changing healthcare environment, Peninsula is truly committed to improving the health of the people and communities it serves.

Peninsula is more than just buildings. We are people with a strong commitment to caring, quality programs and service. Peninsula is dedicated to maintaining a high level of professionalism for employees by offering ongoing training and educational opportunities.

Our approach to effective treatment includes multi-disciplinary treatment teams. These teams - composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, activities therapists, certified substance abuse counselors, and other mental health professionals - develop treatment and discharge plans to meet the needs of our patients. Information sharing and interaction among all departments assure our treatment guidelines reflect each patient's individuality. By bringing clinical and medical resources together, we develop successful pathways to recovery for each patient.

In addition to inpatient and outpatient programs, Peninsula offers services to support successful recoveries by patients and their families. Aftercare services, crisis intervention, in-home treatment options, and supportive housing and employment programs help people maintain healthy lifestyles and improve their quality of life. Our goal is to help the individual achieve and maintain a higher level of functional independence at home, school, work, and leisure.

Peninsula's advisory board, made up of community and professional leaders, is committed to efficient management of resources and assurance of quality care. Because we are a community-owned, not-for-profit organization, Peninsula's primary concern is the well-being of our patients and our community.
